Go to pals.pa.gov and login. You'll find your license number under Professional License Details.

PA License Renewals: All PA licenses expire on May 31st of every even numbered year. You must complete your continuing education requirements before renewing your license.

Information for the 2024 Renewal Period

I've picked out the most frequently asked questions to highlight - read below:

- Licensees must complete at least three hours of the required 14 hours of continuing education in a topic that covers the responsibilities of the broker and the responsibilities of their licensees in regard to property management, advertising and general supervision. This is not applicable to new licensees.

- If you recently got your license, YES you do still need to complete Continuing Education requirements. CE Exemptions only will apply to those who got licensed between December 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024.

- Real estate licensees renewing for the first time must complete a specific set of continuing education modules through an approved education provider. These include two seven-hour courses: the General Module and then, depending on their practice, the Residential Module or the Commercial Module.

Getting Your NJ License (If currently licensed in PA)

You'll first have to get your letter of good standing with the PA Real Estate Commission. 

1. Go to pals.pa.gov and login
2. Scroll down to License Details and click the green pencil next to your RE Salesperson license.
3. In the popup choose Verification/Certification.
4. Fill out the form but do not select a RE Commission from the dropdown (the information they have is incorrect and the letter will get lost!). If you choose nothing, they will send the Letter of Good Standing to you.
5. Pay the fee and finish the application.  You should receive the letter in a couple days.

If you took 75 hours of education:
You'll have to get an education waiver from the NJ Real Estate Commission so you can skip the course and take the test.  Keep in mind NJ's exam combines national and state portions into one, so you'll have to take the national portion again.

Ask Becca for the waiver to complete and send to the NJ Real Estate Commission.  Please read the form carefully and include everything they ask (including a certified check and your Letter of Good Standing)!  You will be notified from Pearson once this waiver has been accepted and you can schedule your exam.  

If you took 60 hours of education:
You need to take a 15 hour "Refresher" course to complete the required hours for NJ licensure. Here's the info on the NJ Refresher course - https://www.njreschool.com/pa-ny-15-hour-course
Once you've completed the course the education provider will instruct you on next steps.

Keep in mind that you will need to join the NJ Association of Realtors in order to access your forms.  This costs about $300 per year for a secondary membership.  There are also multiple MLS's in NJ - Bright (formerly called Trend) covers Mercer County and Burlington County, but there are additional MLS's once you start moving north or south.
